[Tips and Trick] Lenovo Ideapad y510p SLI - Touchpad double tap

People who familiar with new Synaptic touchpad will be frustrated with this Lenovo touchpad that using Elan software for the touchpad. In Synaptic, to right click using touchpad you just need double tap but in Elan, you need to double press the touchpad until it click and that make it hard to get it right because you need the clicking really at the same time. I try to find setting in Elan software regarding the tap function but it seem their don't have it. I know this is just software limitation because early version of Synaptic software at my previous laptop also don't and cannot use two finger scroll or tap etc2 and later on after updated to new version, all of the function I stated can be used.

At first when I try to see the touchpad software that their provide in the laptop, they actually give Elan and also Synaptic software. So my assumption that we can change the software and I start to uninstall the Elan software and install the Synaptic. The install went well but the setting doesn't come out for Synaptic, so all the function also cannot be use. I try to do some research and found in some of the forum just said that they just do like what I said, uninstall the Elan and install the Synaptic. So now I try download the latest version for Synaptic from their website and install again but still the same.

After some more digging, I found in one of the forum said that they manage to install Asus Elantech driver 11.5.0.9 to enable double tap and many other function that the default Elan software from Lenovo itself. I don't know whether it can be use for other Lenovo laptop or not. Maybe you can try and tell me. I also didn't try to update from the version stated above because as long I can use double tap, that fine for me. The touchpad is useful only if you on the move but then again you can use wired or wireless mouse. I used Roccat Pyra Wireless for my laptop and I will review that later.
